MANILA, Philippines – A former overseas Filipino worker (OFW) has found her niche in the health and wellness business in the Philippines.
Jing Reyes is now a business associate at the Royale Business Club, a Filipino-owned company that offers health and wellness products. The company also provides business opportunities to aspiring entrepreneurs.
“The business skills I've learned in the Business Club is something that I'm really very thankful of,” said Reyes.
Before venturing into the business, Reyes worked abroad for about 8 years—4 years on a cruise ship and another 4 in Dubai.
“Basically that's the hospitality industry,” she said. Reyes was a guest at ANC’s Shop Talk where she discussed her business and, at the same time, promoted the small and medium enterprises and franchising expo on November 18 at the World Trade Center.
“Becoming an OFW, there's basically nothing I know about business. But since I became a member of the Business Club they have given me so much support in terms of enterprising skills, salesmanship, and innovative business development---things like that,” she explained.
Coming from the hospitality industry has helped her a lot with her business, she said.
“I love what I’m doing and because I came from the hospitality industry so that might help. I am very, very proud of these products. Primarily, because it’s made in the Philippines,” she said.
Reyes further said that the products she’s distributing are very timely.
“To me, it’s what we need. Wellness is the opposite of sickness and no one would want to get sick. If there is a high quality product that I have which I can make use of, I can earn and consume and basically, I can make a program out of it, distribute it to Filipinos worldwide, why not? It’s the reason why I learned the business,” she said.
She likewise encourage former OFWs like herself and those who are still working abroad to get into her profitable business.
“Basically, it’s a membership program. Like in my case, I am an independent distributor of the wellness products. I also market it to my friends abroad and also to my family members here and also other relatives and clientele here in the Philippines,” she said.
Reyes said bringing the products overseas is not a problem as they have offices worldwide.
“We have distributors worldwide and in the past 5 years, we're getting into our 5th year already, we have about 15 branches, offices of the Business Club nationwide,” said Reyes.
She advised OFWs and their families to venture into something which they can personally use and at the same time earn profitable income from it.
